Our Mission
The Islip Pavilion is dedicated to the love of the arts and to restoring a place in the community that can be shared by everyone.

The Islip Pavilion, the former site of Movies on Main, has opened for its first season in 2008, providing great entertainment at reasonable prices to the Islip community and beyond. The Pavilion houses three separate theaters and offers independent films, performing arts, comedy shows and musical productions.





Marcalan Glassberg, Executive Director
Marcalan Glassberg has been active in the entertainment industry in many capacities for over twenty years after a successful career in education in the arts on Long Island and in New York City. In addition, he has directed and produced numerous stage shows and taught theatre arts to children and adults. Mr. Glassberg is currently the summer theater arts program director and theater arts consultant for the South Huntington School District and the past executive director of the Authors’ Playhouse (formerly in Bay Shore). For two years, he was the Executive Director of the Northport Theater for the Performing Arts and was instrumental in converting the original movie house to a live stage venue. He is active as a judge for the Emmy awards for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and on Long Island, is a judge for the Teen Awards for the Babylon Arts Council.
